Entrepreneur Awards

Recognizing the Hartford Region’s thriving startups and small businesses, the HYPE Entrepreneurship Awards have been instituted to engage and recognize Hartford’s budding and most enterprising ventures run by our young businesswomen and businessmen.

The 2011 ceremony was held at the Mark Twain  House & Museum on the evening of October 19. The event featured a cocktail reception, presentations from the finalists for each of the three awards, and live judging by a panel of community business people.  The 2012 date has not yet been set.  For information about sponsorship opportunities, please click here or contact Julie Daly at jdaly@metrohartford.com. 

Any current HYPE member is eligible to nominate their business venture for one of the three following awards (we will announce when nominations are being accepted). Each of the three award winners will receive a $1,000 cash prize, a trophy and a certificate. All participating businesses will benefit from the publicity via the Awards Event, the HYPE website, and potential media coverage. 

Goodwin College Business Launch Award

  • Targeted at new businesses from any sector that have launched since Jan. 1, 2011, and demonstrate strong potential for growth and success

CCAT Science & Technology Award

  • Targeted at innovative businesses operating in science or technology fields such as web, mobile, medical, patents, and others

Filomeno & Company Business Excellence Award

  • Targeted at mature businesses that incorporated before Jan. 1, 2011, and can point to a demonstrated track record, proven products and/or services, and established clientele
