Our Social Events Committee is extremely enthusiastic about holding events that will excite and engage our HYPEsters!
The Social Events Committee is in charge of our monthly Get HYPEd networking events which happen at various locations in Hartford. They also choose and plan other activities for the HYPE membership, such as supporting Arts & Culture in the region, or cheering on our favorite sport teams. We've created the HYPEr Active series that encourages HYPEsters to become active by going rock climbing, taking a Latin Dance class, or participating in a fitness activity!
The Social Events Committee also contributes to the blog series “Hanging Out With HYPE”, where individuals will attend a fun community event and invite other HYPEsters to join them! Take a look at some of their most recent blog posts here.
In 2018, the Social Events Committee will be looking for ways to engage current membership, and new members, in a variety of events that promote the Hartford region.
We meet monthly in person or via conference call, and communicate by email and Basecamp (a project management tool) when needed.
In 2019, the Social Events Committee will merge with the Ambassadors Committee to form The Social Ambassadors Committee. The important work of both of these committees has become increasingly aligned over the years, so merging them together will increase both efficiency and impact. This newly formed committee will create an even stronger platform for its participants to grow, diversify, and engage HYPE’s membership.
