What she does for work:
I am an employee of the American Red Cross, a prominent humanitarian organization that provides relief to victims of disaster. Because volunteers constitute over 90 percent of our workforce, my job as Senior Director of Volunteer Services keeps me busy working with thousands of local volunteers to ensure we are delivering services in our community. One thing I love most about my job is the opportunity to help others around the country. Recently I traveled to Santa Barbara, CA to support those affected by devastating mudslides. I met some amazing people with unforgettable stories of survival and resiliency. I am lucky to work with an incredible team of paid and volunteer staff who care about helping others.
Her favorite thing about HYPE is:
This year, I serve as the Vice Chair of the Ambassadors Committee. As an Ambassador, I help spread the word of HYPE, welcome new members, and engage current members. I value that HYPE encourages members shape their own experience. Whether you like meeting new people at networking events, trying out a new activity like kickboxing, or enjoy attending fundraisers like Tee It Up for Charity, HYPE provides many opportunities for young professionals get involved. Personally, I have enjoyed competing in HYPE Cup. Who knew trampoline dodgeball would be so challenging!

Her hobbies/interests outside of work are:
‘Yes Please’ by Amy Poehler. Like many of us reading this blog, Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation is my idol. And while Leslie Knope is not real, we are fortunate to have many strong female characters like her empowering us every day to positively contribute to society. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a good, relatable laugh about life’s daily struggles. “It’s very hard to have ideas. It’s very hard to put yourself out there, it’s very hard to be vulnerable, but those people who do that are the dreamers, the thinkers and the creators. They are the magic people of the world.” -Amy Poehler, Yes Please
As a nearly three-year resident of Connecticut, I enjoy exploring the area and finding new ways to get involved. I recently graduated from Leadership Greater Hartford’s Quest program, where I learned about the exciting things going on in Hartford and worked with any amazing team of other young professionals. In the spirit of ‘trying new things’, I joined a kickball league two years ago with my friends. It has been fun learning a new sport, staying active and meeting new people. I look forward to cheering on the Yard Goats this summer and completing my Connecticut Wine Trail passport.
