What she does for work:
I moved to the Hartford, Connecticut region from Buffalo, NY in 2013, as I was pursuing a career as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. At CREC Soundbridge, I work with deaf and hard of hearing children from preschool-high school throughout the state of Connecticut. I teach auditory and language skills, as well as self advocacy skills relating to hearing loss. Working with students across the state has helped me explore what Connecticut has to offer and made me want to become more involved in the Hartford region.
She loves Hartford because:
I am quite the foodie, so what I love most about Hartford thus far, has been exploring all the restaurants, coffee shops, and searching for the best chicken wings in the region, (I am a Buffalo girl, home of the chicken wing!).
Her favorite thing about HYPE is:
I joined HYPE to meet more individuals, be more social, and learn more about the Hartford region. My favorite things about HYPE are the great people I have met and partaking in the fun-filled events throughout each month. It has been a very welcoming and joyous experience for me and I’m grateful to be a part of this group.
Her hobbies/interests outside of work are:
I am an animal lover and on the weekends, I enjoy visiting my goat, Rosebud, who lives at a farm nearby. I am her Fairy Goatmother, so I can bring her treats, dress her up, and teach her tricks, such as kickball and yoga. I also enjoy music, singing karaoke, and going to rock/metal shows. Music is a huge part of my life and it has helped shape me into the person I am today. I love board games, beef jerky, peanut butter, traveling, and visiting my family and friends as much as possible. I look forward to experiencing more in the region and making new friends.
