HYPE Appoints 2015 Chair

Sep 04, 2014

The success of HYPE relies heavily on the dedicated volunteers who serve on our committees and the individuals who step up to lead them. The HYPE Chair and our five committee Vice Chairs serve a one year term together on the HYPE Executive Committee beginning January 1. The 2015 volunteer leadership team will be instrumental both in carrying out the fourth and final year of our current strategic plan, and looking ahead to solidify our 2016-2019 priorities.

We are pleased to announce that the 2015 HYPE Executive Committee will be led by Adam McLaughlin! A dedicated member of HYPE since 2007, Adam has participated on multiple committees, is captain of a HYPE Cup team, and is currently serving as this year's Vice Chair of Ambassadors. He is a Senior Vice President at Webster Bank, and is being recognized in this year's Hartford Business Journal 40 Under Forty class.

A "boomeranger," Adam grew up in East Hartford, moved to New Hampshire for a few years while obtaining his MBA, and returned to Connecticut to start his career and family. Pictured right with our 2014 Chair and Director of Development for Hartford's Camp Courant, McKinley Albert, Adam is thrilled to take on the role. "I am embedded in the Greater Hartford community and want to see this region thrive. HYPE has served as a champion of making Hartford and the region a better place, and as Chair I'm committed to continuing that progress."

Adam will carry out his duties as Vice Chair of Ambassadors throughout the remainder of the year and assume the Chair responsibilities on January 1. There is still an opportunity to take on a leadership role and be a part of HYPE’s 2015 Executive Committee! Nominations for each of the five Vice Chair positions will open September 29 and are due no later than Friday, November 14. Please click here for more information.
