The Connecticut Health Council
, an initiative of the MetroHartford Alliance, is an
association of health sector leaders who work together to promote Connecticut as a premier center for the development of businesses, initiatives, and technology that improve health care and wellness both nationally and in the State.
On Friday, April 21st, the Connecticut Health Council will be hosting a breakfast on "Sustaining the Transition to Value in a Time of Policy and Market Turmoil
". This is a time of both deep anxiety and exciting dynamism in U.S. health care. The new Administration and Congress plans to roll back key elements of the Affordable Care Act, change Medicaid payments to states, and reduce the government’s role in setting national standards for coverage or quality.
Is the 2016 election a pothole on the road to value-based care?
The keynote speaker is David Lansky, President & CEO of Pacific Business Group on Health
. He will review trends including the expansion of Health Savings Accounts, consumers’ growing importance in the market, employers’ use of centers of excellence, advanced medical homes, accountable care organizations and high-deductible health plans and will outline a path of “co-evolution” to resolve these profound tensions.
