Yesterday someone asked me “What keeps you motivated? What’s your passion?” My answer was simple... Having the opportunity to make a difference in a young person’s life everyday. I am interested in attending the Rising Star Breakfast because I am driven to make a difference for the youth in urban areas, specially in the greater Hartford area. When I saw Dr. Leslie Torres-Rodriguez name listed under the event, I knew this was a perfect opportunity to network with her and likeminded people who are passionate, such as myself, to make a difference in the community.

I am the SGC Co Chair for my daughters high school here in Hartford and a community member on the Weaver 2019 project. I am deeply invested in doing my part as a parent and learning how I can advocate on her and other students behalf to ensure positive change is taking place, accountability is held for those in position of authority and family's are engaged. I would love to be listen to Dr. Leslie Torres-Rodriguez speak and hopefully gain some ideas to bring back to my daughters high school.
