Join other Young Professionals in their 20s & 30s on Thursday, February 7th at 5:30pm and spend the evening volunteering at Foodshare’s facility, while enjoying refreshments and good vibes.
This will be the formal launch of JewGood Hartford, a new initiative of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford that aims to bring together young professionals in the Greater Hartford area through philanthropy. JewGood Hartford aims to create a community of young professionals who get together for social, volunteer, and educational opportunities.
In the Hartford area, 1 in 8 people worry about having enough food to put on the table. Foodshare, the largest anti-hunger organization in the Greater Hartford area, is making a big difference in the fight against hunger. They connect surplus food to those who struggle with hunger through a network of 300 food pantries, meal programs, and Mobile Foodshare sites.
Registration is required for this volunteer event, and space is limited. Enjoy unlimited Israeli wine & craft beer from Kent Falls Brewing Company, light refreshments, and a tour of the Foodshare facility. Inspired by Tikkun Olam and the rich tradition of Jewish values, JewGood Hartford is committed to diversity and inclusion and is open to all who feel or want to feel a connection to Jewish community.
Sarah Geller, a Senior Business Analyst at SMC Partners, is most looking forward to being able to “volunteer and socialize with philanthropic, community-oriented young professionals. Giving back to my community is important to me and I am excited to spend time with people who share similar values.”
